Windows Defender is among top Anti Virus Softwares, New Test Results

German test lab AV-Test recently tested 18 different home user Anti Virus products, 11 were rated at “Top Product”, surprisingly among it is Windows Defender which comes free with Windows 10 . The security products were rated on protection, performance, and usability. An application could score 6 points for each test item, making the maximum achievable score 18 points. Protection was tested by feeding the security products with 225 zero-day malware examples and nearly 5,600 malware examples that were discovered in the last four weeks before the tests. Zero-day malware is defined in this test as malware that has been discovered by AV-Test no later than within 24 hours before the test The average rate of detection of zero-day malware was 99.6%. In total 13 security products achieved the maximum score of 6 points on the protection tests, 5 products scored 5.5 points. Microsoft has compiled its first Windows 10 Redstone 6 (19H1) build 18200 and now testing it internally. Windows 10 v1903 build 18200 (10.0.18200.1000 rs_prerelease.180716-1422) was compiled on July 16, 2018. Like earlier RS5 builds, Windows skip ahead Insiders will get first chance to test new RS6 builds in upcoming weeks. Currently,  Windows 10 Redstone 5 build 17713 is available for Fast Ring Insider members. The latest insider build includes a big list of improvements for Microsoft Edge, Notepad, Windows Defender Application Guard, and more. Today, Microsoft has announced it’s new  Surface Go tablet, a smaller, portable, and affordable Surface product yet. The new Surface Go tablet features a 10-inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio display (1800 x 1200 pixel resolution), the signature built-in kickstand, a front-facing camera with facial recognition login, and Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connector port for charging and connecting to a desktop dock. The company has also added a USB-C 3.1 port, capable of charging the tablet or outputting video and data to external devices. The Go weighs 1.15 lbs, which is about half a pound lighter than the Surface Pro. Like the Pro, the Go has rather large bezels surrounding the screen, which seem even larger with the Go’s smaller display. Inside, Microsoft Surface Go has Intel’s Pentium Gold 4415Y processor with either 4 or 8GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of storage.
